Can I count coffee when trying to get my daily water intake?

Technically no, but if it's all you have it's better than nothing.

Coffee is a mild diuretic. That means it will slightly increase your need to urinate; that's not the same as dehydrating you, although it won't hydrate you nearly as well as plain water.



It does count as a part of your daily water intake, but as a negative factor, because it dehydrates. Therefore, you shouldn't drink it for hydration.



That's like asking if beer counts as water intake.. There are other preservatives, sugar, caffeine and other stuff in that mix. It's a compound!!

No, because you don't drink alot at a time, and it can have dehydrating effects. Drink more water not coffee :)
