Are there any negative effects to sparkling water?!

Question: Are there any negative effects to sparkling water?
I workout and run so I am trying to get the right amount of nutrients into my body. I have cut back sodas to juices but even juices are loaded with sugar (although natural, still loaded). Sparkling water seems to be the best. I have read that carbonation slows down your body getting nutrients it needs. Is this true? Are there any negative effects at all?

Well any frizzy drinks brings out gas and i think it bloats your body. But that's just my opinion. I stopped drinking frizzy drinks like coke, 7up and sparkling water. Now my body feels much healthier. I recommend you to stop it for a few weeks and see how you feel.

Hi, Just saw your question and thought I would look this up as I'm also into fitness and drink a lot of fizzy water! I found this link:

This should answer your question, and will probably put you off fizzy drinks for life! It has certainly made me think again. One thing that I was already aware of is the fact that fizzy drinks and even fizzy water can cause dental erosion, and I do always drink my fizzy water through a straw to try to prevent this.

Best wishes,
