Is tap (sink) water better than soda?!

Question: Is tap (sink) water better than soda?
Sometimes at my house I have only the choice of soda or sink water, I usually go to soda because of all the stories of tap water being bad. But lately I've questioned which is better for your health since I've been trying to keep on a good diet. By the way, I'm under aged at my parents house so I don't really have control of what to buy, trust me I wish I did. And information would be helpful, thank you.

i think soda

Definitely water. Tap water is fine for you (in most developed countries anyway). If you live in a country that has had health warnings about the water, then you might want to rethink this, otherwise you're fine. Your stomach has huge bacteria killing capabilities, so even if there is some bad stuff in there, you're still probably fine. That being said, water is the best thing you can drink! So many processes in your body require water, and it flushes the toxins out of your system. Soda on the other hand, is alright here and there, but I really don't think I need to go into detail about how bad it is for you. Stick with water!

I'm sure the only thing you have to worry about is the taste,....You can get a water filter,...

...but in the long run,..it probably is better for you than soda,...which can be used to clean the contacts on any car battery.
