are fizzy drinks really that bad for you?!

Question: Are fizzy drinks really that bad for you?
i'm talking here about drinks like pepsi and coke. I do realise that they are never gunna be good for you. But in terms of long and short term damage is having like one coke every other day really going to hurt you that much in the long run. I love these drinks and i don't want to stop having them, but i don't want manky teeth either :(

Yeah it is just the damned, evil (evile), sugar that is bad. In thinking more about one Coke every other day is not io bad. Just keep in mind your total carbohydrate intake for the day when you have it.

Well most "fizzy" drinks are going to be beverages like sodas or sugary sweet juices. The problem with these drinks are the fact they are just empty calories. They are typically packed with tremendous amounts of refined sugars which when eaten in excess can lead to many negative health effects such as weight gain, out of balance blood glucose levels, tooth decay and can lead to adult onset diabetes among other problems. Your best bet if you want to drink something sweet is to have a nice glass of 100% juice(apple, orange, cranberry etc.) But make sure you moderate those too as they are typically high in sugar. But sodas much as fruit juices are something that can be enjoyed as part of a healthy well balanced diet. Remember it's all about Balance, Moderation and Variety.

Health Science Major.

Its the sugar in the dirnks... i dont think it actaulyl does anything to your health, to say. i think you cna get like diabetes, high blood sugar, and i think some type of cancer, from this stuff thats in the cans.
And all in all youll start gainign weight because of the sugar. jsut a can of one of those drinks is like half of your recommended sugar intake for a day.

And bad teeth... thats a defo.

I think in the long term it will have damaging effects, but short term... not really.

if you drink them in moderation its alwright. Diet drinks are better for you as they don't rott your teeth. As long as it is diet drinks it doesn't matter as much how much you drink it as long as you don't have 12 litres in a week. 1 bottle of 2 litres of diet pepsi lasts me 2-3 days. Try that.

They eat the enamel off your teeth and it occurs with both regular and diet soda. You should avoid any soda as much as possible.
The sugar is also another reason and the preservatives and chemicals.

It's not the teeth - it's what that much sugar does to your body if you drink it long-term. Diabetes will be the least of your worries.

its not the carbonation thats bad for you, but the sugar

yh if you drink to many fizzy drinks you POP
