they say wash coffee makers with vinegar?!

Question: They say wash coffee makers with vinegar?
what ratio, and how to rinse so the taste or smell of vinegar doesn't linger

Answers:

I actually just cleaned my coffee maker this morning with vinegar. Just run half a carafe of straight vinegar and then run it 2 or 3 more times with water to get rid of the vinegar. It may still smell like vinegar, but as soon as you brew coffee with it the smell will go away and you won't be able to taste any vinegar.

They say that because the vinegar will dissolve the lime deposits from the water. You don't need an awful lot of vinnegar but the stronger the solution, the less time it takes to dissolve away the lime. Running water through the machine a couple of times should clear the vinegar taste or smell.

Personally, I just filter the water with a Brita filter before putting it into a coffee maker. That way, the lime doesn't build up in the first place.

Vinegar is a great way to clean the coffee maker. Remember, this is an acidic cleaner that kills germs but at the same time, it's consumable. A wonderful natural cleaner. And you can use it for other cleaning purposes too in order to keep the chemicals out of the house.

If you want to really clean it, you could also use salt. But honestly, the coffee maker cleans itself from the high temperatures. if you're very concerned about this, try to buy a coffee maker that is easier to clean like a peculator or a French press. Make sure also that the coffee maker isn't plastic in order to prevent the intake of BPEs.

If you're looking to enrich the flavor, try buying coffee from a roaster. Make sure the roasting machine is there IN STORE. This isn't very easy to find but when you do, the freshly roasted coffee will be a huge change from what you're use to. You will be very very spoiled.

Use straight Vinegar and run it through a few times and then run plane water though a few times until the smell is gone. I've also seen a blue chemical available but I don't remember the name that is amazing and removing coffee stains fantastic.

I use about 1 part vinegar to 8 parts vinegar. run the solution through twice, allow to air dry and then do a single run with water. I also discard the first brewing of coffee after, but that's just me.

I usually put a cup of vinegar and the rest water. Let it run a cycle, then run another cycle with just water. The vinegar smell goes away.

just use white vinegar run it in the cycle then rinse a couple of times with clean water
