near me its usually called pop
a while ago on vacation i asked for pop and they said what?
since then i called it soda, and it stuck, no i can't even think of it as pop

I called it Pop when I lived in the Midwest but I call it Soda now after living in California for 20 years. I like soda better but I usually call it by its name (Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite).

i say soda... unless i actually know the name of the drink i want

In Australia we call it soft drink luv or call it by it's name, like Coke or Fanta.
