There are some towns/cities that don't have good quality tap water. Bottled water is a lot cleaner/healthier. But most people would buy it in gallon or 5 gallon size bottles in that case, which is much cheaper. I buy bottled water if I'm out somewhere/away from home & need a drink, and I always bring a couple of reuseable bottles full of water to work with me because the tap water there is pretty gross.

It depends on the person.
If they're rich, they don't care; it's trendy to buy bottled water.
If they're normal, maybe the water is hard, or they don't know where to get a filter.

because they like the taste or mineral content - or they are familiar with places where the tapwater is frequently polluted and they believe bottled must be cleaner and free of bacteria.

Bottled water is usually filtered...unless you have a filter connected to your tap(:

Because the plastic bottle it comes with is just so convenient!

Haha...
