What about a huge variety of different types of hash, something that the dutch have made famous.

Low prices, a selection of drip coffee not just espresso drinks, tea, knowledge of how to make tea (it's more complex than taking hot water from the coffeemaker), reasonably priced tea (unless you buy very good tea it's cheaper than coffee, and everyone knows that), comfy couches, tables, comfortable chairs for the tables (the tables make it much easier to work on a project), power outlets, reasonably priced snacks, tasty snacks...and you can't expect to make much money.

I would have to agree with the nice comfy couches n maybe some comfy arm chairs too alone with your usual bistro type tables.....Fireplace would be an awsome touch too!

I've often dreamed about opening a cafe that served great home made desserts and all kinds of flavored coffee at prices that won't break the bank. If people can afford this stuff they'll come back more often!

Here's a novel idea, what about coffee drinks priced so you don't pay $4.00 and up for something that costs $.60 to make at home.

Managed a Starbuck's owned Seattle's Best Cafe' for 3 years and was appaulled at the mark ups.

At least one kind(preferably more) of organic coffee, as well as organic milk, organic soy milk, and organic sugar! It's so hard to find healthy coffee in restaurants!

Proper, decent drinkable coffee with honest names that actually mean something.

Big windows. Fireplace. Magazines, books or newspapers.

Waiters so you don't have to struggle with self service and shopping and kids.

big comfy sink-in couches

free coffee and cheap good quality food.
