Orange juice and boiling hot water mixed together?!

Question: Orange juice and boiling hot water mixed together?
Is it good for you? My mom said that mixing boiling hot water with orange juice gets rid of all the sugars and acids, but it keeps all of the antioxidants and vitamins. Is that true?

Answers:

Actually, I believe heat kills most of the vitamins. Not sure about the antioxidents.

It also cannot remove any of the sugar. If you mix 8 oz of OJ with 8 oz of water and drink the whole thing, you are still getting the same amount of sugar as if you drank it straight (which is about the equivalent of 2 or 3 oranges).

People put water in juice to dilute it, say 4 oz juice + 4 oz water = one whole 8 oz drink with half the sugar than an 8 oz glass of juice. But the water, hot or cold, can't make the sugar go away. Or the acidity for that matter, again it just dilutes it.
