What makes cold brew tea different?!

Question: What makes cold brew tea different?
The other day I saw a box of "cold brew" tea that didn't need to be steeped in hot water, just in cold water for only a few minutes. What makes it different than normal tea? Is it a different variety or finer ground or what?

Just curious, thanx. :)

Answers:

It's processed tea.
Sort of like instant coffee is processed, only it works in cold water.
Like the above poster I agree.
Lazy mans product.
I would definitely buy it cause I hate cooking and even boiling water( food business to many years).

Food business 40+ years ( lazy)( tired)( had enough of cooking)lol..

Not much difference in the taste. The process or sales pitch is geared for the modern lazy person who would rather skip the arduous task of brewing/boiling water. Similiar to those who have no patience to boil pasta and find baking it or microwaving it more desirable. Sheesh....

I found a great article on a site which goes into detail about brewing tea and all sorts of useful information about tea. It's quite interesting!
