i think it's depend on the situation

Sugar-free items have artificial sweeteners, such as sucralose, stevia, and aspartame, to sweeten the food without adding the calories. For diabetics, food items that can substitute sugar are a lifeline; however, excessive consumtion of certain artificial sweeteners, especially aspartame, have been linked to neurological disorders. Stevia and sucralose are derived from "natural" sources and have no recorded side effects as of yet.

Water, straight up is the best, if you need to have some flavour add a wedge of lemon or lime. Don't need the sugar in any form unless you are doing a marathon or other heavy sweaty labour and then you can drink some gatorade.....

There is plenty of sugar in them. It's just that you are not being CHARGED for the sugar. The sugar is FREE, no charge.
