Why does coffee upset my stomach and make me jittery?!

Question: Why does coffee upset my stomach and make me jittery?
I do not have a sensitive stomach as far as I know. I can eat spicy and greasy food with no problem. I could sit and drink a ton of Coca Cola or Mountain Dew and have no issues. All I have to do is drink about two ounces of coffee and I am shaking and have a nervous stomach. Yes only a few ounces of coffee make me feel like this, and its not strong coffee either. I add milk and a little sugar. I love drinking coffee but I hate the way it makes me feel. Anyone know what this effect could be from?

For the jittery-ness maybe the coffee bean and not just the caffeine doesn't agree with you.

I normally drink my coffee black, but my dad finds that drinking coffee with milk upsets his stomach. He is not lactose intolerant and can forexample eat a bowl of cereal with no problem. Something about the combo of coffee and milk or cream upsets his stomach though.

Even though I hate decaf, I'd say try that without the milk if you are craving the taste of a cup of coffee. You can try a non-dairy creamer.

Coffee has WAY more in it than caffeine. Where an energy drink usually has synthetic caffeine added, coffee has an insane array of terpenes, acids, alcohols, xanthines, and so forth. Your body most likely has a sensitivity to one or more of these other natural chemicals.
