Soda, because that's what I grew up with. You should ask people where they are from.
You will find that it's regional. In California, it tends to be soda, going further north into Oregon and Washington, it's pop.
I've always called it soda, which is what I heard living in Wisconsin, Wyoming, and California.
POP FTW!!!! Love it!- Texas everybody down here says SODA ugh I don't like it! But, I was born and raised in IOWA, but have you noticed everything AHHMAZING starts with POP??? POPcorn, POPtarts, POPeye the sailor, POPular, POPpy, POPsicles, POPulation, POPstar, POP music, 'nuff said.

One time we were in the north and someone asked if we wanted pop with our meal. We all flinched and asked what she meant.
i say soda. i used to say pop, but i moved to upstate ny, and they all said soda and i got used to it. now, i'm back in michigan and never say pop. soda is more natural to me.
POP- people above the mason dixie line. SODA- people below the mason dixie line.
In Rochester NY we call in Pop but just 6 hours north in the NY state northern Adirondacks and Plattsburgh area they call it soda. So when I went up north for college i started calling it soda
