"Gunpowder" green tea is just a strong-flavored green tea. It's also more expensive.

It's all in the strong taste though...nothing to do with anything else.

It's certainly gunpowder tea. Gunpowder is a low- to medium-quality green tea rolled into pellets that "explode" when steeped in hot water. The name "gunpowder" came from either the pellets looking like gunpowder or the leaf "exploding" in water. It has a distinct, strong, slightly smoky taste.

You sure it doesn't say "gunpowder tea"? That's a type of tea. Google it.
