Is it bad to mix percocet and energy drinks?!

Question: Is it bad to mix percocet and energy drinks?
I took a percocet 4-5 hours ago (prescription obviously. It is because I had my wisdom teeth removed. I am not a popper or anything) but I am tired and I have to go to work so is it ok for me to drink a monster or are there any bad side effects which could occur? Thank you!

there could be serious side effects. I would not do that. but you can call a pharmacy and ask them. as far as I am concerned, do not drink anything like that with any prescription drug

Honestly, it would depend on your sensitivity to both the oxycodone found in Percocet, and to the caffeine/energy blend of energy drinks. Oxycodone, the active painkiller in Percocet, has powerful depressant properties; that is to say, it is a drug which will slow your breathing and heart rate. Energy drinks, obviously, are stimulants, which could conflict with the depression of the oxycodone. Generally speaking, combining stimulants and depressants is ill-advised, for a variety of reasons...However, if you are only taking your Percocet as directed, and are not overly sensitive to energy drinks, there shouldn't be any side effects. Just be aware that, because of the depressant oxycodone in your system, you probably won't feel as energized by the energy drink as you might normally be. Don't take this as a sign that it's okay to drink another one. When the drug's depressive effect wears off, it is possible that your heart rate might spike dangerously if you overdo it on the caffeine.
