How do I clean a dirty espresso machine?!

Question: How do I clean a dirty espresso machine?
I bought a Krups pump espresso machine from a garage sale. I have no idea how dirty it is or what condition it is in. The website doesn't have any useful instructions on the cleaning or maintenance of said machine. What should I use? Vinegar? Soap and Water?

thank you for any suggestions!

You can try to CLR cleaner. I use it all the time and it won't affect the taste of the coffee. Or you can try a 1/2 cup water and 1 tbsp. of lime juice. It works as a natural cleaner.

Or as many others would say, 1 part vinegar and 1 part water.

Myself

50/50 vinegar and water. Do not run soap at all, your espresso will taste like ***. Just run the 50/50 mix like your brewing espresso, then run it one or two more times with water. You should be set after that.

*btw nothing but the vinegar and water should going through the machine...no espresso beans. Just incase you didn't get that.

been there done that
