Soda can didn't fizz?!

Question: Soda can didn't fizz?
I just opened a can of sprite and it didn't fizz at all. When I poured it out, there were little tiny bubbles but nothing else, not the normal hissing and fizzing that comes wiht pourng a drink on ice. It tastes fine, but I was just wondering why this happened and if its still okay to drink

I wouldn't drink it. Air somehow got into the can via a leak or hole.

Soda can loose its fizz quite easily. Its quite normal too.
Soda is always 'flatter' when its left at room temperature.
Thats probally all that happened.
The 'fizz' of soda is carbon dioxide gas escaping from the liquid. Gases expand with the more heat you add and contract when you remove heat. If you put a soda in the fridge, you are cooling the CO2 and it does not escape the liquid as fast. ERGO, the soda will retain its "fizz" longer.

Science,

may have been a leak allowing the CO2 to escape the can.
however it is heavier then air, so the pressure must have built up pushing CO2 out from the can.

[carbon dioxide is dissolved in soda]

I suggest buying a new can just in-case i'm wrong and it has a poisons gas dissolved inside of it, rather then CO2

I wouldn't. If it didn't fizz, it probably was very old, or the seal was previously cracked. Sprite has no preservatives, and mold will grow in a warm, sugary environment.

Maybe it wasn't fresh or was flat?? Not sure but that's the only thing I can think of

maybe it is out dated should be ok just flat tasting
