Are there any negative health effects associated with drinking lots of tea?!

Question: Are there any negative health effects associated with drinking lots of tea?
I'm a tea fanatic - I drink at 1-3 glasses daily. Usually black tea, but some green. My favorites are chai black tea, jasmine green tea, and just regular iced tea. Aside from the caffeine, are there negative health effects you can get from drinking lots of tea?

Caffeine is not a huge issue in tea. Granted, you might feel very buzzed if you're sipping on black tea all day. Most black teas have 50 mg of caffeine, still half the amount of coffee and less than a can of coke!

There is nothing negative to drinking 3 cups/glasses of tea. This is not that much, outside of america people consume an average 4 cups of tea per day! USA is the only country where tea isn't the number one consumed beverage. People in Asian countries that drink tea pure (no sugar or milk) reap the full amount of benefits. The only negatives could be drinking some teas on an empty stomache (like Pu-erh, some greens, and oolong) there are nutrients that break down fats that(especially with pu-erh) are only meant to be drunk after eating. And the high levels of these minerals and polyphenols (while very healthy) can upset your stomache and come back up!!

have my own tea business

Well i'd for sure watch your caffeine intake. You might want to try having decaffeinated tea-- you'll eventually notice the jitter from the tea if you don't try it.

But most importantly, watch the sweeter you use, if any, that is.

If you're using an artificial sweetener, you might want to try and skip splenda, and try another one, such as truvia. Splenda in large quantities has been shown to be bad for your long-term health, and truvia is both healthier and (in my own opinion) tastier.

But if you're using real sugar, or Truvia isn't your cup of tea (*chuckles*) then you should try honey. Even a little dab is sweet enough, plus, it's not something you have any other time of day, so it should keep you satisfied.

Enjoy!

Make sure you drink tea without caffeine. That will do your body more harm than good.

As someone said, make sure you are okay with frequent urination.

I wouldn't worry, as long as you keep it at 1-3 glasses a day and don't go over at least 4, then you should be fine. Tea can be very benefiting, if drank without caffeine. ;)

nice question, mayb even better answer? hmmmm. drinking some tea as with all other good foods is well good for you. Too much black tea too much peeing, can make some people women especially, anemic. some healthful helpful advice, try other herb "teas" like rooibos or whatever to substitute some of the tea cups u having in a day

Well I imagine that 'tea' rhymes with 'pee' because it is one serious diuretic. Much more so than coffee or water. But this isn't actually harmful to you, and 1-3 a day isn't excessive. It's better that you're getting plenty of fluids.

If you drink lots of tea, also drink lots of water. Tea and coffee are diuretics, and can leave you dehydrated if you're not careful.

According to www.tea.co.uk, drinking tea, especially green tea 4 times a day is ideal to get all the health benefits possible from tea.

It could make you talk funny and give you an uncontrollable urge to drive on the wrong side of the road.

Tea = Good for you!

You pee a lot.

haha that liek me.. i pee alot, and like both kinds of tee. it s better than soda.
