It can be bad if you drink heaps at a time.
There is a condition: hyponatremia, where you drink so much water there aren't enough salts in your body...
Some energy drinks replace the salts, but water is good, as long as it's moderately consumed.

Did an assignment on the importance of water...

Drinking too much water is extremely hazordous for your health (we are talking extreme amounts). You can incure hyper-hydration which kills a fair few people a year. Overconsuming water can inbalance your electrolytes causing fatal brain activities.

People can only drink this much by forcing themselves, it's actually quite painful and we'd be talking about 10 pints an hour. It doesn't matter if you are urinating most of it out, the intake of the fluid is the negative factor.

I personally drink 16-20 pints a day as part of a healthy diet etc however I am an athelete. It is the most effective agent in losing weight and remaining healthy, free of headaches, with good skin, hair condition and faecal consistency.

You should drink only when you are thirsty. There are a lot of myths around drinking water, many made up by bottled water companies. We also get a lot of water from the foods we eat. The body will do just fine if you only drink when you feel the need to, that's what thirst is for!

water does nothing but clean your body.
drinking to much can also wash away some of your proteins and stuff like that.
and i guess drinking alot in a very short period of time.
a women died in a radio contest for who ever could drink the most water in a short period of time

You can't drink too much water. Your body will only absorb what it needs to. The rest will be expelled from your system. Drinking a lot of water will help clean out your system though, which is a good thing.

I linked this page, hopefully it has more explanation: http://drbenkim.com/drink-too-much-water…
remember everything is good in moderation!

really?I hardly drink 1 liter :) The recommended amount per a day is 1,5-2 liters. Too much of anything can hurt you. I say drink 3 liters a day is just fine :)

You didn't tell us what you do for a living, if you sweat alot during the day that's fine- if not I would check with the Dr., you could be diabetic.

'm not a Doctor, but I would doubt it, however you may want to get your blood sugar checked, excessive consumption of liquids can be a sign of diabetes

5 litres isn't too much but excessive water is bad for you. You can even get drunk from it. Not to be recommended.

Yes because you are washing away your bodys essential salts wich you need.If this happens it can cause you to feel light headed. You shouldnt drink that much water.

No you should get around 1 gallon of fluids a day. Now that is just a general amount, different people need and can tolerate different amounts.

No, it is good for you.
