There is no scientific evidence that tea directly helps you lose weight for any chemical / biological reasons. Unsweetened tea is calorie free, so it certainly cannot hurt your weight loss efforts.

However, you may find that tea is better than water for encouraging you to eat a healthy diet, in the long run, because tea is primarily bitter and aromatic, and if you drink it over time, you will train your body and mind to prefer foods that are bitter and aromatic--and these foods tend to be healthier for you than bland foods that are sweet, salty, and fatty.

Tea also has other health benefits. Even though it might not help you lose weight, it's generally good for you. I'd say, if you like tea, drink tea. You're especially well-off to drink high-quality loose-leaf tea, if you have access to it (you can order it online if there are no good stores near you that sell loose tea).

Good luck with everything!

Of course tea is, logically, better than water for weight loss. The reason is that tea contains the stimulant caffeine. Caffeine, the primary ingredient of the modern diet pill, raises metabolism and suppresses appetite.

Unless you drink tea concentrate straight from the pot, never consume caffeine, or have some unusual condition, tea is hydrating - as one would expect from a beverage that is 98% water. You would need to drink a bit more tea than you would water.

The extra caffeine won't do much - an extra 10 pounds a year lost, if you drink seven cups a day or so. Watch for symptoms of excess caffeine at that level.

I assume you are drinking tea without milk, sugar, artificial sweetener, etc. The extra calories in the additives more than outweigh the caffeine for weight loss.

Tea is good for you, but it's not a diet pill.

Maybe for diet reasons.
The reason being that caffeine is an appetite suppressor.
Dark chocolate and coffee as well( due to the caffeine) are diet suppressors.
In that sense( to lose weight, yes perhaps) but is tea better then water for all other reasons?
Outside of some antioxidants that are in tea, there are also undesirables( such as the caffeine( again)lol..
So, water is a better all around drink.

Tea has herbs in it that give you a natural caffeine spike. This will keep you active throughout the day, helping you lose weight. But water is by far the best choice. Hydrating your body is essential for weight loss and survival. Try Green Tea in the morning and afternoon, but water throughout the day.

Tea is great, try not to add any sugar. It hydrates you just as good. Stay away from caffeinated tea if you don't want to drink iced tea only, or just drink less of it. It beats drinking coffee if you must have caffeine.

Tea is great for you and has lots of antioxidants, but that does not mean sweet iced tea (lol). If you want to lose weight water is the best thing you can put in your body, hands down.

Green tea contains antioxidants and may also help burn calories or fat, however either one is better than drinking something with lots of calories or sugar.

i would prefer to drink the green tea and water same time, try after 6 pm do not eat anything, and you will reduce ur weight

no! tea is never good for you! Water is essential! :) Good Luck!

they are both good . mix it around one day tea. one day water.
