pepsi lol

Hello everyone, I have been assigned a statistics project in which we were to conduct a hypothesis test and were asked to poll 50 people and record if they could accurately find their preference in Coke or Pepsi. I found that 24 out of 50 people correctly guessed their preference leaving me with 48% accuracy.

I can't find for the life of me find out how to calculate the standard deviation
Null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis...actually most of part E including the rejection region and calculating the test statistic.

What I have so far is that

The null hypothesis is Ho=50
Alternative hypothesis is Ha ≠ 50

I really dont know where to start.....

Thanks for reading!

This is an overview of the project....

It has been reported that 50 percent of Americans can correctly identify their preferred taste in cola.
Test this claim using α = .05 to see if the percentage is different than the claim that Americans can
identify their preferred taste in either Diet pepsi, Diet coke, coke, or pepsi. You must sample no less
than 50 participants.
The following needs to presented in a power point presentation, with each slide clearly labeled
containing the following information.
a) Statement of your experiment
Please give one paragraph that tells me exactly what your experiment is about. Please write this
up as if I have absolutely no idea about what is going on.
b) Method (nature) of data collection
The questions below are those you may consider in this section, however, there are no set limits
on the questions you answer.
How are you going to collect your data? Where does your sample come from? Are you coding
your data? Are you asking your participants any particular questions before your experiment
begins? What materials are you using to set up your experiment? What location are you using to
run your experiment?
c) Graphical Representation of Data
This representation should show all data collected and show every response given by a
participant from your data collection.
d) Calculation of population parameter and standard deviation.
e) All elements of a statistical hypothesis test (Null, alternative hypothesis, alpha, rejection
region, calculation of test statistic) (You may not conduct this test using the p-value!)
Refer to the book for a more detailed explanation of the elements of hypothesis testing.
f) Discussion of conclusions, extensions, or problems with the experiment
Discuss your conclusion in terms of the alpha you used in this experiment.
