Furry Coffee Granules - ok?!

Question: Furry Coffee Granules - ok?
About a year ago I put the majority of a jar of Carte Noir coffee into a separate tin, for reasons I cannot recall, and I forgot all about it.
I have literally just discovered it again and would really like a cup of coffee but there seems to be a slight white fur here and there throughout the tin. Is the coffee ok to drink?

I would put that coffee straight in the bin.

It might depend on what type of mould(s) you happen to have cultured, but it's not worth the risk.

Search the web for

mouldy legumes cancer

A recent study into cancer advised avoiding mouldy legumes and grains. I have seen some articles saying that the same may apply to coffee, but it depends where you read.

Do your own research and reach your own conclusion, I'm not saying that my thoughts are necessarily correct!

It sounds like a fungus may have grown in it..

I'd not take the chance.
