Adding alkaline to drinks?!

Question: Adding alkaline to drinks?
Is there anyway to make a drink more alkaline without affecting it's edibility and taste? After reading up about the effects of soda on the mouth and teeth I'm looking for a solution, just out of interest.

Drinking soda through a straw can help limit the contact on the teeth.

A few people in the US South add baking soda to iced tea, which when prepared the traditional way can be very bitter (which is why there's so much sugar in it). I have no idea how it would taste in soda.

No, if you're worried about the effect on your teeth you can wash it away with water
