When drinking green tea?!

Question: When drinking green tea?
Why exactly is a tea bag used?
Obviously it helps to control the strength (saturation) of the tea.
But just out of curiosity, would it be unhealthy to just directly pour the tea leaves into hot water and drink it?
Or would that increase the nutrition?

You can drink green tea by directly poring the tea leaves into hot water. Green tea leaves are meant to be consumed fresh and in fact most people in Japan will drink green tea this way. Tea bags are made just for convenience and ease of use.

a tea bag just makes it easier to take the tea leaves out after you're done steeping the tea.
it doesn't control the strength, it's more for convenience.
it is not unhealthy to pour the water on tea leaves, but you'd have to stop the steeping which usually occurs by taking the tea leaves out. You can pick them out but that would take forever.
i'd say the nutrition is not too significantly increased by using no tea bag. there are infusers and other contraptions, but it's all pretty much the same.

The tea bag is an invention of convenience. Before the teabag was used, people put tea straight in to the water and then used a strainer to get the tea leaves out. There is nothing unhealthy about drinking tea with leaves in it, but it may get too strong for your liking and therefore not be pleasant.

I drink a lot of tea.

Good question! The tea bag gives you the correct amount of leaves for one cup, and it also keeps the annoying little green pieces out of your teeth. Also, no, I don't think you want to pour leaves into hot water... try it the other way and it might work better. Doing it your way would result in a few leaves floating on top of some plain water.

Some people do that, but you need to use less tea, otherwise it will be too strong. It isn't unhealthy, but if you try drinking the dregs, you may be in for a surprise taste.

After breakfast

yes its ok. you will just have some leaves in yeeeer drinkk..
