Why does diet soda make you bloated when it isn't even high in sodium?!

Question: Why does diet soda make you bloated when it isn't even high in sodium?
i know its not sodium free, but one two liter bottle of diet coke contains 240 mg of sodium..yet, when i eat lean cuisine or something, even oatmeal...it has more, like 300 something and it doesnt make me feel big and puffy? Well not like soda at least.

it cat be the carbonation because ive drank clear splash which has no sodium and i dont feel bloated.

it also cant be asparatame because the above statement.

ugh, im frusteraed at the disorganization of this question.

ps. I know water is better i just want to know WHY i feel bloated after diet soda and not 400 mg oatmeal!

it IS the carbonation. carbonation and socium are two different things. Carbonation comes from them bubbling carbon dioxide gas through your soda. when you drink a big bottle you arfe taking in a gas that has to go somewhere. do you notice a lot of burping or farting after you drink soda? That's carbonation doing ist's gassy thing. One thing to watch out for...if you drink several liters of carbonated anything in a short period of time, like on a hot afternoon, you will find yourself short of breath. This is the carbon dioxide saturating your blood to the point where your lungs cant do the oxygen/ carbon dioxide exchange as efficiently as they should. It's like breathing ina a paper bag. You're shorting yourself on oxygen. This is also a good case of instant stupid as your brain needs oxygen and you are feeding it CO2.
Go easy on the stuff and you wont bloat, burp or get stupid.

coz the sugar supliment they use is worse than real sugar... if ur on a a diet and want a coke or sometihng ur best off drinking the real one not coke zero/ diet
