Orange juice makes me happy?!

Question: Orange juice makes me happy?
I'm a 13 year old girl and when I'm upset and I drink orange juice, I become happy again. Is there any reason behind this? Thanks in advance :)

Me too! It's tastes good, has plenty of nutrients your body likes & the natural sugars in it are a pick me up.

Hello Ki West! Well, I did a research based on people who get happiness directly when they ingest food and it turns out that it is a completely normal thing to happen and it is very common although many do not recall it with a certain food but with all of them in general and others simply haven't. This happens because when people are angry or sad, the brain ( Which is the master organ in the body) becomes somewhat upset or uncontrolled and so does the hormones in your body. But when people eat or drink their favorite food or beverage, the brain as it being happy, sends out Serotonin ( Happiness Hormone) controlling back to normal the hormonal levels in your body and giving you a well being state. From that moment on, the person will remember that food with the magical ''calming down'' effect or glorious state effect of making you happy and thus consuming it each and every time that you are tremendously angered or sad ( Brain's way of protecting his body by seeking it unconsciously). I did this research because whenever I was angry or sad, I ate gummy bears which I in a past I considered them addictive but turned out they weren't ( Placebo Effect on the mind).

Hope it helped!!!!

My own! I did a research on college of food effects and what foods are really addictive
Also, this page helped! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serotonin
