I've edited my post, I didn't like how I worded it, and I also added a link.

No, it's never bad to have a little bit. However unless you want him up all night tell him to have the monster around the time he gets out of school and he'll be in bed by 7. However there is no harm in Energy drinks what so ever, if moderated, no matter the age as long as you limit them like soda, coffee, and other stuff.

I added a link telling you the side effects of doing it all the time, but they no way say that you can't drink one occasionally and be fine no matter your age. Think of it this way, because you drank 1 beer you're going to be an alcoholic? No, and if you don't drink beer every day and minimal, having one is fine.

I agree with KC, if your brother wants one, tell him to do chores and get them himself so that way he's working out or doing something else before getting to drink the energy drink. You should also talk to your mom, about issues with your brother. Being a big sister myself, I know you want to help and protect your brother. However it’s you’re parents job to choose in the long run.

Sorry I edited this, and it was so short before, I hope this helps a little more then my first stated.

One more tip: Just because you say that you work/study/hang out at a university, means nothing. I can lie and tell you I worked with the greatest mind on the earth and that I know all on the internet, that doesn't make it true. Take the info, and filter it in you're own conclusion. If they say they are a doctor, don't automatically assume they are. Unless they give you 100% proof of being who they are.

rodzor is an idiot. if you're under 16-energy drinks, coffee, alcoholic beverages impair development.

yeah, it's good that you stopped him.

i'm in university, studying science.

Nami obviously had no clue. i've got my share of experiences. i know what energy drink can do. a former alcoholic relapsed by starting off with energy drinks. i know mainly because i'm in uni, so these sorta drinks are common.

PS-i'm happy to give you my university e-mail address if you want.

5 energy drinks over a course of 5 weeks is not going to inflict any damage on him. It is a good idea to get him to stop, though. Energy drinks are loaded with caffeine and sugar, and no vitamins or minerals at all. It would be better if he drank milk or water or juice of some kind. Plus, if he stops then you won't have to worry as much about a hyper kid.

i drink a can or more of lucozade a day and im fine! energy drinks are just higher in sugar then most drinks, and children under the age of 6 normally get "hyper" from the e numbers, but no harm

no it is not bad. no matter what anyone says. i have a least 1 monster everyday. i i am 13 so it is ok. my mom says that if i want one i have to buy it with my own money.

Nothing *terrible* will happen but if I were you, I'd limit his intake. Energy drinks aren't good :/

Those drinks aren't good for anyone.

damage? are you serious? god people are stupid. no it won't.

dont let him drink monster - he's gonna be a little midget
