i think if u put up signs around your neighborhood, you can have the neighbors put a bunch of cans in a box and leave them at your doorstep. then when you have alot of cans, count them up and see if there are enough.
Some smaller grocery stores/ or supermarkets take them instead of using machines to destroy the cans, you could try to find one of them and ask them to buy them back.
I maybe stating the obvious but you have contacted the factory
or tin can makers
Ask at your local school. Maybe agree to pay a small amount per can towards their school funds.
