Hello friend!! I personally do not own a Jack Lalanne but my aunt owns one and let me tell you, she is delighted with it. She likes it because she likes to make clear pure fruit juice, not the smoothie ''smooshie'' she calls, that almost all of the blenders make. Also, this juicer is very quiet, very well constructed (*compact), very easy to use, very fast, and has a great price. ($100 with accessories and the ''confections'' book) So yes, it is a very good fruit juicer when compared with the rest. Why do people want to eat their fruits and veggies in a liquid state? This I never understood this smoothie thing. I would much rather eat a whole strawberry or blueberry or tomato than smoosh it up like I was a baby eating purees!!
Other than that from what I've heard from people this juicer is quality although there are less expensive ones out there that'll get the job done. Especially if you're not sure you want to drink pureed "baby food" enough to make $100 worth it.
