Alternative to alcohol?!

Question: Alternative to alcohol?
I've been drinking alcohol to help me sleep. I need to change this. I've been thinking about switching to tea. What type of tea would help me sleep?

If you mean real tea, I would suggest old Pu-erhs. They usually have a very relaxing effect on me (and almost don't have caffeine).

If you extend "tea" term to other herbs, I would suggest:
- Lingzhi

After a cup of this thing, it feels so warm and peaceful inside :)

- Melissa

It has a veeeery relaxing effect, actually you need to watch out and not overdo here, I once drank too much of it, and well, that felt funny :D

The above herbs are not intoxicating so it's totally ok to drink them. I mean don't be scared by that thing being a mushroom and so on, it won't cause hallucinations or anything like that :D

Chamomile tea is great for winding down for bed.

Alternatively (I know its a cliche but it works!) a cup of warm milk will do the same. It quietens the stomach and settles you down.

you really need to find out the reason why your not sleeping in the first place. so try hot milk , cocoa, or one of the other bedtime drinks, listen to some quiet soothing music. if this doesn't work go and see your doctor.

Tea is a stimulant which has caffiene, so drink any energy drinks as this will make it worse. If you are having seroius sleep deprevation then you need to ask your GP or pharmacist.

you can get nightime teas made for sleeping but like here's the thing. you're used to booze

like eating a bananna and warm milk is kinda out of the picture

Tea will keep you awake, unless it's de-cafinated or herbal tea.

Try sleep aids like melantonin or Tylenol PM

Coffee,,

Try watching Oprah, you'll fall asleep after ten seconds

Do some hand practice.
