Pop! (Michigan)

I just say "soft drinks" or use brand names, e.g. Vernor's ginger ale, Mountain Dew, Sprite, 7-Up, Sierra Mist, etc. There are different regional terms for them. One of my ex-boyfriends told me about this. He said his brother from Tennessee visited him in California and asked a Chinatown clerk if he had "pop". The Chinese man did not know what he meant. In Texas, someone asked him where to buy "soda water".

When I was in GA, everything was Coke. When I was in MI, everything was pop.
