Why do my home made smoothies taste bland in comparison to a smoothie shop's?!
It comes out the right consistency for sure, but the flavor isn't right. It tastes bland and kind of sour. Any ideas to make it more tasty or to make the flavors blend and/or pop more like a restaurant style smoothie?
Answers:
Replace your tablespoon of sugar with 2 tablespoons of honey. Honey is more complex and will bring out the complexity of the other ingredients as well as their sweetness
First of all I wouldn't use pineapple juice in a fruit smoothie: sometimes it can have a weird aftertaste, and maybe that's what you're tasting. If you must use juice, find something sweeter, like grape juice.
Also, in restaurants they'll be using triple the amount of sugar you've mentioned, if not more.
Instead of the juice, just use milk for all the liquid element, and add a bit more sugar.

Try using more sweetener.
Trying to be fat-free. Use real ice cream and real milk no pineapple
