I am trying to drink more water, but why is it making me feel sick?!

Question: I am trying to drink more water, but why is it making me feel sick?
I am trying to get over the habit of drinking diet soda. Mainly because of the caffeine, but also because I do want to lose weight. I don't normally drink much water, except for when I brush my teeth and occasionally when I exercise.

I am going to try to drink 8 glasses (8oz per glass) a day, but today I drank just one and it made me feel really sick. I know my body wants me to drink more water, so why does it make me feel sick to drink it?

Thanks.

Answers:

you have 2 drink it in moderation. if you arent used to drinking that much water, it may make you hav a sloshy sick feeling in your stomach. drink 3 glasses a day to start then work your way up 2 8 glasses. also you cannot drink it all at once. you have 2 drink it throughout the day. hope i helped :o)

Are you eating while drinking it. Because if your drinking water on an empty stomach then its going to make you feel sick. Or maybe your body is just getting used to the water since you said you didn't really drink it til now.

Try drinking it in smaller portions, not a whole glass at a time. I drink water mostly, but I also feel a little nauseous if I drink too much in one go on an otherwise empty stomach.

it's because your body tastebuds change what u like and dislike
mabey when you were drinking water before
it lyked but now you want to start drinking it agen your taste buds might hav changed how they feel about the taste of water
lol

Maybe because your body has too much caffeine and as soon as you drink something else, it will make you sick because your body hasn't had water in a while.

me

it s very unusual. u better contact a gp and get suggestion from him. u can try some ice water or some sugerless fresh juices.

your body is adjusting to the lack of caffeine in the water. it should go away in a week or two.

stop drinking water from the toilet, silly

you shouldn't drink a lot at once your body is just adjusting
