Putting lots of sugar in coffee make me gain weight?!
Answers:
Lots of it is probably not good. Also, sugar can actually decrease the energy boost you get from caffiene. I quit putting sugar in my coffee. If you use milk/cream, try light or sugar free flavors like almond or vanilla, or any other you like. I have found that to be pretty much better than sugar in my coffee.
No, actually, not really. Sugar is weird. You can add 1/2 cup of sugar to your coffee and chew it and you aren't going to be eating any more calories than if you ate 1 slice of combo pizza. The sugar acts negatively with your pancreas and insulin levels however and then you start to alter how your body processes the sugar and ultimately over time and with damage to your system you can become quite a lard-*** I guess. The weight gain associated with coffee comes like any other item; people are drinking gourmet flavored drinks with great names that seem to mask the fact that an iced mocha is 1/2 cup chocolate syrup, 1/2 cup whole fat milk and 150 additional calories of whipped cream. I hate the idea of being able to drink a coffee that has more calories and fat than a personal pan pizza. so, a cup of coffee with 1/2 sugar at about 375calories (you would be chewing it and it would be closer to waffle syrup than coffee so you might worst-case add 1/4cup app.188 calories), costs you 1/2 slice of loaded pizza in calories (SUGAR HAS NO FAT< EXCESS FAT WILL PACK POUNDS FASTER THAN EXCESS CALORIES) whereas the White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino whatever with whipped cream can average 860 calories and 26g of fat. When I am wanting to tone up, that is more than 1/2 of my total daily calories and all of my allowed fat, I'll take the pizza. If you are trying to gain weight, hit the peanut butter smoothies, consume a minimum for 400-500 calories ever 3/4 hours and get you calories from high protein but hearty healthy foods.
It depends what you do after you drink your coffee. If you are active the sugar or (glucose) is one of the first things your body will burn for energy. If you don't burn it off it will turn into fat and excess fat will be excess weight.
