Why won't my espresso maker froth milk properly?!

Question:

Why won't my espresso maker froth milk properly?

It was a Christmas present. I like it but for whatever reason I can't get the milk to froth properly. I read the instructions, did what they recommended but no froth. The milk gets super hot and boils and splatters all over the place but there's no spoonable froth. What do you think is the problem? It's a Hamilton Beach model so I believe it's a good brand. Any suggestions?

Answers:
Try holding the container of milk so the steam is coming out just under the surface of the milk. There should be bubbling but no spattering. It sounds like you are putting the steamer wand too deep into the milk.
It takes time to get the hang of a new machine - keep practicing!

When I got my amazingly wonderful francis-francis, I had a little trouble with the steamer too so I went down to the local coffee house, sat at the bar and watched the girls making coffee drinks.

Oooh...and try putting a few drops of vanilla and a shake of cinnamon in your milk before you steam, that's my favorite!
According to all my friends and family, I make the BEST coffee drinks ever...

Go to hamiton beach website or call them , Imaybe it is not working right ... ?
When I used to work in a italian place I never got it right
Something about bring the cup up and down kind to get the frother to put out more air, does that make any sence ? bring it up so it is almost touching the bottom then bring it back up ( but not out of the cup)
Thats how I was taught
hope it helps
