It's called advertising. There's a sucker born every minute.
Because people are willing to pay for their products.

because you can't find a good cup of joe anywhere.
also, the lattes and mochas are better than any restaurant.
no else thought of it until Starbuck's.....that's why.
Dont go then. Buy beans and make your own at home.
Leave starbucks to those that dont give a rats ****.
its considered Gourmet which always costs more.
and because people pay it.
Circle K makes the best and most affordable coffee. Starbucks stores do smell better.
supply and demand
and worse, people are getting trapped in the trend of having to get their morning coffee.
They wanna make money...make huge profits...and there are people willing to pay $5.00 for a cup of coffee that is worth $0.20
Why? Because they can.
They're not making people do anything. People can get hyped up for less at home.
yes we pay way too much. But its sooo GOOOD. Carmel Macoo soo good
because they offer really great health benefits, a large portion of the cost oftheir drinks goes to employee benefits.
Yea I would have to agree . They do have really good health benifits. They give their employers health insurance. Plus they are really good. They are not doing anything to make us hyped on caffeine. We're getting ourselves hyped up on caffeine. They are not comming up to us and asking us if we want to try their coffe...we're going and buying thier coffee then were getting hooked onto it.
they want more money
because people get hypnotized into thinking that starbucks is the best, they pay celebritys to drink starbucks in public, and there is such a demand for starbucks, that some people would be willing to pay 10 dollars for a cup instead of 5, which is already insane to begin with. but you are right, way too overpriced
what does the american public want? caffine and sugar. what does the american public get? caffine and sugar for the mere price of $6 because they think there getting a gourmet coffee drink, omg but it tastes so fricking good.

One of the primary countries for coffee beans is Columbia. Guess what else they grow there? Seems to me that to be competitive with the other crop they grow, there has to be an "incentive" to grow coffee, hence they need to make it worth the farmers time. Did I mention the cost of labor to make you that "special cup" that you could "do it yourself" for 50% or more off at your local gas station.
any coffeehouse is expensive, the fair-trade and organic they keep in stock is pricey and the machinery is pricey, up to $20,000 for a espresso machine!
THEY HAVE CREATED IT BY MARKETING IT FOR SNOB APPEAL. DUNKIN DONUTS COFFEE IS MUCH BETTER
I tried the hot cocoa and it was horrible,if the coffee taste like that they can keep it.
