You would without a doubt explode. Why do you think the terrorists stockpile Mentos and Soda? It is not so that they can blow themselves up and them smile and hold up some Mentos and it is not to have a refreshing beverage whenever they want. pffft! the reaction you mention can be violent but there is no ignition. that means no fire. carbonated beverages contain CO2 dissolved in the liquid, the candy allows the gas to escape rapidly, i would not reccomed enjoying these two together, but tou are very unlikely to injure yourself with them. unless, of course you are a dumbass.
