What is the best way to store loose tea leaves?!

Question:

What is the best way to store loose tea leaves?

for example in the refrigerator

Answers:
If you have a lot of them... get 2 airtight containers, 1 big and 1 small. Store small amount in the small container for frequent use and the rest in big container to maintain its freshness.

It's not necessary to keep in the fridge but avoid direct sunlight.

ziplocs

In an airtight light proof container.

In an airtight tin, on the counter.

Ziploc bags really aren't particularly airtight. And you want them in a dry place that's neither particularly hot nor cold.

ziploc bags are great. If you can get the tiny zip lock bags and separate your loose tea into serving size, you can have them stored in the fridge so you can easily pull out a serving size, make some great fresh tea and you don't have to worry about adding more air to one huge ziplock bag.
