How much milk?!

Question:

How much milk?

I was just wondering how much milk the average family of 5 uses in a day. I have 3 children, ages 7,4,1 and my hubby and I. We go through a gallon a day. Is this normal?

Answers:
Let's break it down.

Five people in the house. Each person is supposed to have four dairy servings per day.

A gallon of milk is 16 cups. Five times four is 20.

As long as there are other dairy products going in somewhere, ex. ice cream, cheese, yogurt, sour cream, etc., then a gallon a day is about right, however, if no one is eating other dairy, then you are a little low.

yes it is normal

I drink more than that just by myself! Sounds like your family is being quite frugal with the cow juice to me...

id say thats even a bit low for 5 people who like milk

I think it's a bummer.

See the web site http://www.notmilk.com and you will save your self years of grief.

Me and my wife go through 2 gallons a week. Milk provides calcium, and if you are going through a gallon a day is not bad, in fact it is good - much better than juices, kool-aid, or soda. Keep it up. Drink more milk if you desire.

it is quite good.

That sounds about right to me!!! :)

thats it??
