Milk problems in canada ?!

Question:

Milk problems in canada ?

why do they sell milk in 4lt bags but you only get 3 bags?

Answers:
It used to be 3 quarts of milk before we went metric. Each bag held a quart. I don't know if Americans use quarts??? I do know that our gallon is a little more (1 Gallon is 1.2 US Gallons). So I assume that our quarts would be more than an American quart.

When we went metric they didn't want to sell 3.4 L of milk and so rounded it up to 4 L and then charged us a hell of a lot more for milk.

I live in Canada
and I buy 4 L jugs of milk
I have not seen bags of milk since I was little

How do you use the bags?
Do youpour them into containers?
Do you have special holders? (I thinnk we used to have special milk bag holders)

They still sell bags here in NB. 3 bags total volume of 4 litres. It's a few cents cheaper that's the only difference.

Milk is also sold in carton and plastic containers.

i've never seen milk sold in bags, well there you go :)

still get them on Prince Edward Island as well. we use those plastic jugs, kinda like a normal plastic jug only with the top cut off. you slide the bag in they cut the 2 top corners, we still even use the little plastic bag cutter thing that hooks to the side of the jug.
as to why, i have no idea, help keep it fresher maybe?
i know it was a little embarrassing taking my lunch to school in a brown paper bag, then opening it to find my sandwiches and cookies in milk bags, jeez mom didn't throw out anything.
