Should Starbucks implement a COFFEE line???
I go in. 15 people ahead of me. One Cashier, one Barista. Everyone in line: "Ummmm....Uhhhhhh.....does the Soy Machiato come in a 15 ounce size? I see you have 15 ounce cups but I'm trying to cut down on caffeine. No, forget that I'll have a triple decaf soy latte with extra foam, and it needs to be 180 degress". 15 minutes later I get to the counter and order a drip coffee and they tell me it will be a few minutes while they start a pot. I don't hate Starbucks, but giving the public 5000 variations on a cup of coffee and having only one cashier ain't working.

OMG! I've been saying this for ages. Every morning I stand in line for 1 grande cup of coffee. Sometimes I just want to shout "I'm here for coffee, it will take 5 secs, please let me ahead of you!!!"
Really though, my boyfriend who worked at Starbucks for 5 years said they has been talk of the so called coffee-line however since they don't make as much money off of my $1.65 grande breakfast blend as they would off of the $3.75 latte. They figure they'll leave me in line and hope the extra time I spend looking at the sign and watching other people's fancy orders I'll change my mind and drop the extra $2. Plus, if they have an express lane more people might pass up the $4 Machiato for a quick cup of coffee.
This seriously drive me nuts on a daily basis.
Starbucks answer is to open more locations. Watch for thousands of new locations coming soon.
Go to a diner or such place that does not serve lattes or cappucinos.
I agree and good manners seems to be lacking those lines too. I think everyone is just antsy for their caffeine fix, but those people in line are downright pushy. I want to wear a hat with Yosemite Sam's "Back Off" on the back when I stand in that line.
Ahh the agony!
I have to get to work 15 min early just to get Starbucks. I have to plan it...
Yes, I do feel your frustration. They need to do something. Hire more people...something!
some busy startbucks do have that called a brew limne. my bf and i both work for starbucks. we do nto have a "brew line only" but his store does and it seems wo work very well. in the mornings they shoudl have 2 braistas on the registers.. what we try to achieve is from when you get in line from when you get your beverage it shoudl only take 3 minutes. thats what we try to aim for anyways.. that includws drive thrus when a car gets in line (no matter how long the line is ) from when they make the transaction adn get their beverage it shoudl be only 3 m inutes..
but they shoudltn charge you for the coffee if they need to brew it or if it is still brewing..
but yes
one cashier isnt efficient at all when it is busy...
they should also have comment you can leave (pamphlets at the cafe station. with the creams and sugars) you can always write down your suggestions and give ittot he barista to pass onto the manager. just say how you always wait in line for a while just to get a cup of coffee. and see if anythign will change..
