I miss it too. Sadly, the competition for shelf space in stores is so tight that unless an item is a huge hit, it will be discontinued. I think that the large corporations have a much different mind set than average Joes like us. For us, making some money is good enough-- as far as we see it, it's at least some income. For most of the large companies, unless there are huge profits, they will turn their attention to something else. I imagine that some day, there will be an attempt to remarket vanilla coke.

We hardly knew ye. Apparently, anyway, because the Coca-Cola company has decided to phase out Vanilla Coke
I'm not surprised that it's happening, only that it has taken so long for something like this to happen on a larger product line. I mean we see flavors come and go, but typically they are smaller lines that hardly made a ripple. Vanilla Coke, on the other hand, was introduced with a huge amount of advertising.
Apparently it didn't work, and the Vanilla line is skipping town, along with Diet Coke with Lemon. I think it would be an interesting exercise to see more of this. While I appreciate the idea to appeal to every market niche, the fragmenting it has done is incredible, with just a small sliver of sales going to any one such speciality beverage. There has to be a trade-off between such a strategy and actually making any money.

I know a lot of companies produce these things later on, sort of like a cycle, it could come back in again depending how profitable it was at the time
im in ontario canada an there is a good substitute..its called "jones"vanilla cola
Hows this for an idea - lets get a petition to 'coke' telling them that unless they bring back vanilla coke, we're all going to start drinking pepsi max! If enough boycotted their other products, they'd soon bring it back.
I loved the vanilla one - and the lemon too.
I really hope so. I loved it. There was still 1 shop around my area that sold it but they run out. God I miss it! I really want one now!
