Will a gallon of milk go bad if it is put in the freezer?!

Question:

Will a gallon of milk go bad if it is put in the freezer?

It turned a yellow color in my freezer and I wasn't sure if that meant that it had gone bad. My friend told me that milk would keep if put in a freezer. Is this true?

Answers:
it's true and the color may change but once thawed out shake it and get it mixed up again and it will be ok----------------once thawed you need to use all of it within 3 or 4 days as it will no longer stay fresh

My step dad keeps his in the freezer and hasn't drank bad milk yet. But we don't keep it in the freezer long- term

Although it's safe to store cow's milk in the freezer, the water and cream will separate. It tastes yucky. Be sure to defrost it in the refrigerator, not at room temperature.

That happens when milk freezes, it turns yellow. I don't know why but it does. Doesn't mean it went bad.

Yes,I Guss found that out boy ho boy did I ever get sick.

Since it is frozen the enzymes in the cow milk don't formulate bacteria, which casuses milk to go sour.

You must defrost it in the refrigerator and it will continue to stay okay for a few extra days.

milk will taste differently like water

The best is low fat or 1%, they freeze and thaw well.I use to buy them several at a time and freeze to use all month long. The whole milk has little floaties sometimes on the top of it........
