well I'm from wisconsin, which you could consider north and I've never heard anyone ever say soda pop...we call it soda. But anyway...to answer the question, the soda gets flat and thick...some people a long time ago used to boil soda to soothe a sore throat.

Well, i dont recomend it. But it would taste hot with no bubbles with the main flavor of the soda you used.

The fluids evaporate and the remaining concentration of sugar gets thicker until you just have the dry sugar with some of the caramel coloring.
