Should I go complain to Starbucks for a free drink?!

Question:

Should I go complain to Starbucks for a free drink?

(Follow up question to my previous question.)

I have a receipt that says I ordered a soy latte, but I have a cup marked for a latte, NOT soy but milk (the "milk" slot is blank). I drank the milk latte until I realized it wasn't soy and suffered for it due to my lactose intolerance. I realize most people will find this a stupid question :o) but what do you think? And how should I say it without seeming like a cheapshot looking to score free *$ (not to say I'm not.. :P)?

Answers:
As long as it is a decent time frame. you totally have a valid point wat if you were seriously allergic then wat. with as much money that company makes they have an obligation to make sure that their employees serve the public correctly. if it is somwhere that you go on the norm then definatly something needs to b said...wether or not u request a free latte is up to u.

nope ,you dont want to piss off the peson macking it ........ unless you like spit in your coffee

I would complain...that could have been a lot worse due to their mistake- definately go back, let them know they need to be much more careful because it may not seem like a big deal but it could be to someone- yes go back.

I would if the line was not too long. . . If the line was too long, then just throw it at them and run. That will make you feel better.

U shouldnt go to starbucks period. they dont support the US Military..

You shouldn't be buying coffee from f_ckin' Starbucks in the first place! Find a good, independently run, "mom n' pop" coffee shop in your area...preferably one that serves shade-grown, organic, fair trade coffee...and give them your business instead of handing your hard earned cash to a greedy, rotten corporation that engages in unethical business practices, such as Starbucks!

I would complain, within a decent time period. What if it had caused serious effects?

Think of it this way. You don't go an complain. A young child who is lactose intolerant is handed a milk drink with 'normal' milk at the same Starbucks that you were at. He/She doesn't realize that it's not soy milk and drinks it all.

You hear about this child and how ill he/she is. How are you going to feel, knowing that you had also been served the wrong milk but didn't do anything about it?

I would just tell them what has happened and see what they have to say. Let them know that you were affected by their being careless. It may help them to be more cautious in the future.

Usually the person working the register at a store would not be able to give you any thing free. They would have to hear your issue then go explain it to there manger per your request, then you would again have to explain your issue to the manger who would then make the decision to give you any thing for free. Unless your time is completely worthless it’s not cost effective, not to mention you’re going to paint a big target on your self and may unknowingly be the victim of someone’s bad day (its more likely for some one to mess with your food if they recognize your face).

write a letter but dont go to the store and demand a free one, you will end up getting a lower grade coffee, just choose a new outlet nextime.
