How do i get into likeing Tea?!

Question:

How do i get into likeing Tea?

I have tried many types of tea but the same results come in; the hot tea tastes like plain water no matter what, and the cold tea just tastes bitter. Any suggestions on types of hot and cold tea would be great

Answers:
Drinking tea is like drinking coffee. Some like to add milk, others do sweeteners, such as honey or splenda, and a few do a slice of lemon.

There are hundreds and hundreds of flavored tea, obviously green and black tea are the best for you because of all the antioxidants. Tazo tea has flavors ranging from raspberry, lemon, wild berry, and even caramel vanilla. Other famous brands are Bigelow, Ceylon, and Celestial Season's, they all carry a variety of flavors.

Any of the teas can be drank cold as well, you would add a little more sugar no milk and a extra slice of lemon does not hurt either.....

p.s if you don't want the bittery taste at the end take the tea bag out, it doesn't have to stay in the cup until the last drop. The watery taste in the beginning is because though the water has changed the flavor of the tea is not brewed into the water yet.

Good Luck!

Sugar it to taste. Let it seep for the amount of time labeled on package.

when I was younger I used to like orange pekoe with sugar & carnation canned milk. nowadays I drink it with sugar & 2% milk

add lemon and sugar it makes it taste much tastier

Try 2 tea bags at a time it increases the amount and therefore the taste 2 bags in the microwave for three minutes with some half and half and sugar rocks (and also perks you up)

My suggestion is to keep trying different types of tea. They also give away samples at some stores. If you can't find any try putting sugar or honey in your tea. It makes it taste so much better. Don't put milk in it though. They just showed on the news that if you put milk in tea, it ruins the point of drinking tea.

try it in different ways, lemon, cream, honey, use a thin cup,so the heat stays, make it in a pot,try red rose tea if you can find it,they have many kinds, they say green tea is the best for you.make it a ritual

1. Use filtered water
2. Use loose tea leaves, not tea bags (Don't buy it at the supermarket. Go to a dedicated tea shop.)
3. Vary the amount of time you steep the tea (longer is more bitter, shorter is more like plain ol' hot water)
4. Let the tea leaves float around freely, i.e. don't compact them and push them down into the water with a bag or a too-small sieve
5. Try different kinds of teas. Green/black/white, jasmine, assam, oolong, rooibush, etc., etc.
6. If you don't like it, you don't have to force yourself to like it. Drink something else.

this is weird...my tea always taste great..as a beginner i suggest you to get ginseng oolong, you will adapt to this taste...

tea should not taste bitter unless you brew it wrongly..for example for green tea you need to brew it with water around 70-80 degree celcious, if you brew with boiling water the tea will taste bitter. try black tea with rose...it is taste extremely delicious..

what tea did you brew? i get my teas from teacuppa.com and sometimes sevencups.com

i suggest you to try teas from them...they havent disappoint me yet.. but i think you should try with ginseng oolong or called ren seng oolong

Years ago I didn't like tea either until I tried China green tea, I like it black, with natural honey if you require sweetner and the medical proffession says it helps stop cancer from starting. I drink a cup every night about 2 hours before I go to bed. And it tastes good. Try it you will like it.

for hot tea try black tea. it is less bitter than green tea. also try Tropical passion tea. Tropical is the brand, passion is the type.

enjoy

i feel the same way. i add a bit of milk & sugar into it. also, some honey works.

add honey instead of sugar.. then if you have, put some squeeze of lemon. it tastes better
