How much coffee to use in a french press.?!

Question:

How much coffee to use in a french press.?

I have a 12 cup french press I want to use for a dinner party.
How much measured whole beans do I need to use for this?
If you do not know the whole bean measurement, what is the ground coffee measurement?

Answers:
I use a French press every morning for my coffee. Actually, it has been suggested, and I've also read, that you need course ground coffee. Espresso is so fine that it might actually escape through the screen.
I use 2 scoops of coffee for my 8 oz. container. For twelve cups, I would start of with 6 scoops and see how that turns out. Be sure to let it steep for at least 4 minutes and then slowly push the press down. Hopefully you will get the desired tan colored foam on the top. I think this is call "creama" and is quite good.

I use ground espresso.. for a dense rich coffee I use 4 tablespoons. A lighter cup is three tablespoons.

Here's instruction from a website...

Good Luck!

Most packages of coffee will have intructions on the back, but if your's doesn't..here it is:

2 Tablespoons (levelled, not heaping) for every 8oz (180ml) of water. So just multiply this by the number of cups you'll be serving...
