Am i drinking green tea too much ?!


Question:

Am i drinking green tea too much ?

I am 26 year man, from last 6 years i am drinking green tea, but since last 3 years i started taking green tea two cups in morning, one after lunch and one or two in the evening.
i take green tea with some water, milk and sgar.
5 cups of green ta in a day, is it o.k.
i read somewhere excess of anything is bad, so i ask this question.

If you have had no problems for the 6 years, then it probably is not too much.

That is a lot of caffeine. Like some coffee drinkers. Try the decaff one once in a while. That's the one I drink.

drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
cancer
rheumatoid arthritis
high cholesterol levels
cariovascular disease
infection
impaired immune function.
Just be careful with too much. Everything must have a balance.

too much b/c green tea has properties like speed different than just caffine. two a day, is ok.

i drink tea (although not always green tea) all the time. Its made out of herbs and i dont think it can do anything bad to you, especially if you havent seen any bad signs after so long.

Well, I don't mind the green tea, but milk and sugar? You're destroying a good cup of tea. Seriously!! It would be fine, if it's black tea. Haha!

But seriously, green tea has it's health benefits, like antioxidants. If you think 5 cups are bad, I drink a half gallon a day. But as always, green tea cannot truly substitute water. I drink a half gallon of water a day. Tea does have oxalate, which can cause kidney stones. That's why you drink a lot of water as well.

green tea is really healthy for you, so you shouldn't worry about anything but your bladder!

You're right! Too much of anything can be harmful. But the 5 glasses a day that you say you take shouldn't do you any harm. Where I come from, people drink more than that a day. It has been a culture for many many years. It hasn't done anyone here any harm. But, the problem lies not with the tea itself. It comes from adding the excess amounts of sugar.

Tea is okay for you beacuse it's heathy. But don't go to crazy on it. Because I only take it 3 times a week.
