May eye place my plastic coffee cup in the microwave?!

Question:

May eye place my plastic coffee cup in the microwave?

this coffee cup is thick and should NOT melt?

Answers:
Even if it doesn't say "Do not microwave," you shouldn't. Besides the health risks, many times it will end up melting no matter how thick it is.

Yes you can.

If it has nothing metallic on it (gold or silver designs, etc.) and if it doesn't say anything on the bottom of the cup to the effect of "do not microwave" you should be fine.

i think you can place your coffee cup in it. Because the microwave oven will break down if u use metal things inside. all plastic can be used. sorry but I am learning English yet OK? bye

it depends. i once put a plastic measuring jug in the micro and it went a very interesting shape.

Try looking on the base for marks which may tell you if it is safe or not.

Placing plastic cups in the microwave are a health risk. Many plastics emit spurious chemicals into the liquid they contain. Some plastics also do not fare well in microwaves and will melt or change their structure and become brittle or even catch fire. You need to know if its microwave safe. Even then better to use a container or cup that is deemed safe for use in a microwave unit

No you may not and your eye may not either, Thank You
Seriously it should say microwave safe on the bottom

yes but watch it and take it out ev. 10-20 seconds to check on the plastic

you sure can if you won't to it shouldn't melt

Probably not. But a ceramic cup or mug, yes. They don't have to be expensive.
