Here is an excerpt from an article on Odor and Taste in water.

Excerpt

A good, safe way to overcome this smell or taste is to place a covered jug of water in the fridge before drinking - cool water always tastes better. Don’t keep the water for longer
than 24 hours; use the remainder for garden or indoor plant watering.
Chlorine is most noticeable in water first thing in the morning or after periods of non-use, run the tap for a while before use, saving this water for purposes other than drinking.

Metallic
Metallic or plastic tastes can usually be traced to internal pipework and plumbing systems.
When water has been in contact with pipework for long periods it can dissolve small amounts of substances from the plumbing, for example:
Metallic or bitter tastes come from copper, iron or galvanised pipes.
Plastic tastes come from plastic pipes.
Rubbery or metallic tastes come from tap washers.

Maybe it gathers dust in the glass. I've noticed the same thing, especially if I leave the glass on the dresser by the TV.

I'm thinking that in the am, it is warm from sitting on the bedside table and has collected dust and crap through the night.
Mine tastes fine anytime if day/night if it is cold (and from the fridge door)

i noticed the same thing for example even if i get a new glass and if re fill the water it still tastes bad in the morning.....

Ok well I have two answers... At night the water has been standing around in the pipes and when you fill up yo might have a bit of a metally taste and my friend once tested water at regular intervals and she discovered that there was something in the water (can't remember what) but it multiplies... Your water could be tasting like the stuff that's multiplying...

i know. it tastes weird. kinda dry. not sure y
